When they try to make a tv show based on the themes in the films like Traffic, it ends up looking like Blue Bloods, or Cops, or Hawaii Five O, or Miami Vice, or Criminal Minds, or Orange is the New Black. What's left then? Soap Operas and shows about good witches. I haven't wanted to be a cable subscriber in a long time because I got tired of flipping channels every five seconds due to irritation or boredom or anger or jealousy. I hope television programming gets better. I suppose Disney and Netflix both have their witches to boost. "Star Trek" already has a following, but when we get completely lost, I highly recommend all of their shows as well.Īs for "The Good Witch", time will tell and so will Netflix whether or not a modern show about a witch can be successful as entertainment or education. "Fantasy Island" and "Love Boat" are the first two that I would put a vote in for. I could make tons of recommendations of television shows from the past that were enjoyable and clever. Maybe Disney and Netflix are promoting these two shows because they have had enough of "Tom and Jerry" and "Looney Tunes". Let's use our superpowers to do something that looks beautiful and good instead of hilarious and/or painful. Let's bring elegance, and family back to the spotlight. "WandaVision" and "The Good Witch" are both saying the same thing in their own way. However, thinking that drugs (legal or illegal) will be your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is a very naive and foolish thought. Everything we inhale and ingest is in some form a drug. In the films "Traffic", "Requiem for a Dream", and "Leaving Las Vegas", a viewer with a brain and feelings should come to the conclusion that the drug world and all its false promises is not a safe bet. If you want to keep laughing at how ridiculous we all look at this time, then keep on watching "Family Guy" on FreeForm. It might make you jealous if you're not skinny and shiny and perfect, but if you're looking for wholesome family viewing, it will do the trick. It's based on fiction, yet brings reality and manners and family values back to the screen. Why? I suppose we all have to ask ourselves that question as individuals.Īfter considering all that I know from personal experience and all that I've seen from movies such as "Traffic", I highly recommend the Netflix show "The Good Witch". Our family models were made to look like cartoons with "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy" and it was a big mockery. We've had mostly Real World shows and Cop shows and it's been a disaster. If you have seen the films, then you might understand what I'm talking about when I recommend the Netflix show "The Good Witch".įor the past twenty years we didn't have "The Cosby Show" or "The Brady Bunch" or even the show "Family Ties". If you haven't seen these three films and you wonder why the world is crazy, then I recommend them so that you have a better understanding of why and how the world went crazy. Three such films are "Traffic", "Requiem for a Dream", and "Leaving Las Vegas". That's when I turn the channel.Īs someone with experience in the drug world and someone who has been homeless, I've paid close attention to the films focused on these themes. I don't care for shows that make me angry or shows that make me feel jealous.
LAST OF THE MOHICANS SCREENIT MOVIE
However, I love a good movie or a good show especially if it's educational or entertaining. and I didn't care because whatever was going on in my life at that time was more interesting or important than the boob tube. There were times in my life when I didn't have a t.v. I've seen a lot of movies and I've watched a lot of television in the past 49 years.
